Diet Doctor – The Keto Bread

Jump to Recipe

Do you miss bread like I do on the Keto diet? Well you don’t have to anymore. I made these Keto buns with psyllium husk and almond flour and they turned out great. I had them for breakfast with salmon locks and capers and also for snacks with peanut butter and jelly.

Bake at 350°F for 50-60min. 2 net carbs per serving.  Click on each link to see what brands I used for baking these buns.

The Keto Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

5 tbsp ground psyllium husk powder
1 1/4 cup almond flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sea salt
1 cup water
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
3 egg whites
2 tbsp sesame seeds, optional

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix all of the dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Boil the 1 cup of water.

Add the egg whites and the vinegar to the dry and combine them well. Add the hot water and beat with a hand mixer. Do this for about 30 seconds. Be mindful of not over mixing the dough.

Oil up your hands and shape the dough into 6 rolls.

Place rolls onto a greased baking sheet or use parchment paper over the baking sheet.

Finally, top each roll with sesame seeds. However, as mentioned above, this is optional.

Place the rolls on the lower rack and bake for 50–60 minutes.

Diet Doctor says you know when they’re done “when you hear a hollow sound when tapping the bottom of the bun”.

Serve with melted butter or top with almond butter and sugar free jam! So delicious!
