Keto Tahitian Poisson Cru

Let’s create a keto-friendly version of a Tahitian dish: Keto Tahitian Poisson Cru

Ingredients

– 1 lb fresh white fish fillets (such as mahi-mahi or snapper), diced into small cubes
– Juice of 2 limes
– Juice of 1 lemon
– 1/2 cup full-fat coconut milk
– 1/4 cup diced cucumber
– 1/4 cup diced tomato
– 1/4 cup diced red onion
– 1/4 cup diced bell pepper (any color)
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
– Optional: hot sauce or chopped chili peppers for heat

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced fish fillets with lime juice and lemon juice. Make sure the fish is fully submerged in the citrus juices. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to “cook” in the acid.

2. After marinating, drain the excess citrus juice from the fish.

3. Add the diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, bell pepper, and chopped cilantro to the bowl with the fish.

4. Pour in the full-fat coconut milk and gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined.

5. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. If you like it spicy, you can also add some chopped chili peppers or hot sauce.

6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

7. Before serving, give the Keto Tahitian Poisson Cru a final toss and adjust seasoning if needed.

8. Serve chilled, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
